Five stunning plants competing for FleuroStar

Which of these plants will succeed Selecta one's successful Calibrachoa PinkTastic?
Fleuroselect proudly presents the five entries in this year's FleuroStar Contest. Each of these introductions deserves to be the next 'Winner with the Wow Factor', the variety with the highest visual impact at point of sale.

As FleuroStar is judging brand-new breeding achievements, entrants sometimes still encounter some challenges in the plant production process. Please note that Impatiens Roller Coaster Hot Pink has been withdrawn due to insufficient flowering. Summer Breeze Pink has been replaced by Summer Breeze Rose, which has a darker flower colour. As the variety does not differ from the originally entered variety in any other way, the FleuroStar Committee has decided to accept this change of variety.

Fragaria x. ananassa Duch. F1 Summer Breeze Rose ABZ Seeds
If one plant needs to be on any garden lover's wish list this summer, it should be Summer Breeze Rose from ABZ Seeds. This ornamental F1 strawberry from seed combines stunning double, rose-like flowers with an abundance of fresh summer fruit. Summer Breeze Rose guarantees continuous colour as the plant grows copious crowns of double flowers which do not lose their petals. Meanwhile the lush yield of strawberries refreshes and sweetens any moment at once. Rose flowers and red fruits combine to create a very trendy colour contrast that truly catches the eye.
The FleuroStar Contest will be held during the FlowerTrials® at nine locations in The Netherlands and Germany: Benary (at Kébol), Dümmen Orange (Dutch location), Fleuroselect stand at Takii, Florensis, Jonge Planten Grünewald, PanAmerican/Kieft Seed, Sakata, Selecta one (German location) and Syngenta FloriPro Services.

Expert Jury

Over 30 professionals from a cross-section of breeding, production and retail as well as trade journalists and marketing specialists choose the Winner with the Wow factor. During the FlowerTrials® each judge will cast his/her vote after visiting one or more Contest locations in the Netherlands and Germany. The winner is the variety with the highest average score on commercial potential and point of sale attractiveness.
